Huawei has officially introduced the latest Huawei Mate 80 series including the Huawei Mate 80 and Huawei Mate 80 Pro. The devices feature dual-ring design along with the power of the Kirin SoC, and a large 5750mAh battery. So let’s get into the article to check out the full details.
Everything about Huawei Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro
The vanilla variant has the power of the Kirin 9020, while the Mate 80 Pro comes with the power of the Kirin 9030 chip. Both devices support Tiantong satellite calls and two-way Beidou messaging. The devices also support 700MHz emergency communication even when there’s no network coverage. The devices also support Bluetooth 6.0, seamless offline 2.4GHz communication, and Wi-Fi 7+.

Both devices come with a unique dual-ring back design and a full metal body wrapped in a nylon back. The vanilla variant has a frosted aluminum alloy frame, while the Pro model comes with a glossy one.
The latest Huawei Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro feature a 6.75-inch OLED display with 2832×1280 pixels resolution, a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and 300Hz touch sampling. The devices also come with the second-generation Kunlun glass along with a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
Speaking about the camera department, the smartphone series features Huawei’s second-generation “Maple Leaf” primary-color imaging system. The vanilla variant features a 50MP main camera with 10-stop variable aperture (RYYB, OIS, f/1.4–f/4.0) along with a 12MP periscope telephoto (5.5x optical, OIS), and a 40MP ultrawide. The device also features a 13MP ultrawide selfie camera, autofocus, and a 3D ToF depth sensor.
While the Huawei Mate 80 Pro comes with a 50MP main camera (RYYB, OIS, 1/1.28”, f/1.4–f/4.0), 48MP macro telephoto lens (OIS, 4x / 8x), and a 40MP ultrawide. The device has the upgraded 9th-gen ISP promising 2x faster real-time processing and the company is also introducing a new TILTA pro-grade photography kit, including a 3.3x teleconverter along with modular quick-release accessories.
The Huawei Mate 80 and Mate 80 Pro come with a 5750mAh battery (rated 5620mAh). Along with 60W Wired fast charging on the vanilla variant and 100W on the Pro variant, while wireless charging support is available up to 50W and 80W, respectively. The devices also support reverse wireless charging as well, and the Huawei Mate 80 Pro also supports an extreme low-power mode that lasts up to 13 days.
Both devices feature IP68/IP69 rating and the devices run on HarmonyOS 6 out of the box. Regarding the pricing and availability, the pricing of the smartphone series starts at CNY 4,699 and it is available in China.
