Huawei has officially launched the latest tri-fold phone dubbed the Huawei Mate XT 2 in the markets of China. The device has the power of the new Kirin 9050 Pro processor along with Lingdun privacy screen and more. So let’s get into the article to check out the full details.

The new Huawei Mate XT 2 features a 10.2-inch inner display with a 3K resolution and a 12.89 aspect ratio while the outer screen comes with a 6.5 inch display along with 2442 x 1140 pixels resolution along with peak brightness of 6,500 nits.

Huawei has also launched the new Huawei Mate XT 2 with IP58 and IP59 rating for dust and water resistance, making it the first tri-fold phone with this level of protection. The outer display of the device features basalt glass, which Huawei says offers 30 times better drop resistance and 16 times better scratch resistance compared to the previous generation. The inner display also comes with a multi-layer composite structure.
The device is available in Black, White, and Purple colour options. All three versions feature a star-diamond camera module, a gold-woven brocade pattern on the body, and an Extraordinary badge near the hinge.
It has the power of the Kirin 9050 Pro processor along with the Ma Liang GPU that supports real-time ray tracing and the Da Vinci NPU that runs an edge-based mixture-of-experts model.
The device is also coming with the Lingdun privacy screen and it is said to be the first hardware-level privacy system built directly into a foldable display. The device also features an independent dual-pixel setup. The new Huawei Mate XT 2 can also stand the outer panels upright to physically block side viewing. The device supports ECG analysis as well.
Speaking about the camera department, the latest Huawei Mate XT 2 features an 18EV ultra-high dynamic range main camera with a 50MP RYYB sensor and a variable aperture ranging from F1.49 to F4.0. The device also comes with a 50MP RYYB periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and a 40MP RYYB ultra-wide camera. It also comes with Huawei’s third-generation Red Maple color camera.
The new Huawei Mate XT 2 runs on the HarmonyOS 7 operating system and it is the first phone to come with the new OS. The software includes split-screen layouts designed specifically for the tri-fold display and the same will enable you to run three apps side by side or use a PC-style workspace.
Regarding the pricing and availability, the latest Huawei Mate XT 2 has a starting price of 19,999 yuan and the device will be available in China from September 13.
