Huawei has officially introduced its first foldable laptop dubbed the Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate Design and it is the first commercial notebook with a folding display. The device unfolds to an 18-inch screen with a 3.3K resolution along with a 4:3 aspect ratio and when the device is in folding condition, it will be offering a more compact 13-inch display. The device uses dual-layer LTPO OLED with a dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 and peak brightness of 1600 nits. It also comes with a carbon fiber support layer under the screen. It is also said that the device has the industry’s largest folding hinge at 285mm and it features a three-stage shaft with uniform torque.
Under the hood, the latest Huawei MateBook Fold has the power of Huawei’s in-house silicon. We don’t have any details about the same. It is also running on the company’s own HarmonyOS 5. The device also supports soft bus interconnection that will enable higher-speed file sharing and multitasking across devices. The device also comes with a range of touch and gesture controls. The device with 32GB + 1TB variant costs 23,999 yuan and the 32GB + 2TB model comes with a price tag of 26,999 yuan. The device is available in China.
