Huawei May Use Sailfish OS

Since the Chinese telecommunications giant, Huawei blacklisted in the tech world, and Google made the decision to stop giving access to the application and restricting the software updates. The company needs to find an alternative and we are hearing that the company is making its own operating system and it is also said that the company will launch it in October.

Moreover, we also came across a report which suggested that the company has filed a patent for the operating system. However, we came across a report which says that the company will use Sailfish OS instead of its own.

Having said that, the Sailfish OS will not be ship in the original setup but instead, a fork called Aurora OS, and Huawei’s CEO, Guo Ping, reportedly discussed the possibility of using Aurora OS on its handsets with Konstantin Noskov who is the minister of digital development, communications, and mass media in Russia.

About Sailfish OS

If you are unaware about the operating system then it is a Linux based OS for mobile and tablets. The operating system is developed by Jolla, and it was shipped in Jolla smartphones and tablets, but both the portfolios are discontinued in 2016. Moreover, the operating system also runs on many third-party devices like Sony Xperia XA2, Intex Aqua Fish, and more.
