The Huawei Honor 8 Pro will be powered by Huawei’s very own HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC coupled with 6 GB of RAM and will give a tough lead to flagship SoCs like Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Samsung Exynos 8895 is all set to be launched in India soon.

All about Kirin 960 SoC
The Huawei’s Hisilicon Kirin 960 is an octa-core processor based on big.LITTLE CPU design, It has four high-performance ARM Cortex A73 cores clocked at 2.4GHz alongside four low-power Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz with UFS 2.1 storage technology, The chip is also the first SoC to make use of ARM’s latest Mali-G71 GPU and is built on a 16nm manufacturing process,It is the first commercial deployment of the A73 core, which gives the best performance with 15% improved power consumption. The Kirin 960 is also the first chipset to support Vulkan, the all-new graphics standard to maximize the true performance of the multi-core GPU.
The company says “It will not only maximize power but also increase the speed to ensure that the device runs efficiently over time,” and “It’s i6 coprocessor, which is a part of the Kirin960’s architecture, offers 30 percent higher memory capacity, allowing it to run more services and also incorporates the latest audio chip solution Hi6403 to provide a better music playback experience”.
VR and AR performance
Kirin 960 offers exceptional virtual reality (VR) performance and can render 2K video at 90 fps with an MTP lag of less than 18ms its Augmented reality performance already set a new standard for endurance time and allows augmented reality (AR) games to be enjoyed by consumers.
It brings a new dual camera experience by adopting the latest dual camera technology, with upgraded visual features while also incorporating the latest audio chip solution Hi6403 to provide a better music playback experience.
Huawei’s latest flagship ‘Honor 9’ was released in China last week the smartphone sports a 5.15 inch 1080p display with the latest kirin 960 chipset accompanied with 4/6GB RAM and 64/128GB storage The smartphone is powered by 3200mAh battery pack and it was able to defeat some of the Snapdragon 835 (10nm) smartphones out there as it is no overclocked CPU.
Kirin 960 (Honor 9) has a better price to performance ratio than Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 is the valid point to note here.
