Indian TWS Earbud Market Grows by 700% with Apple AirPods Selling the Most

The True Wireless Earphone market in India grew a whopping 700% in 2019. This earned the Indian market the title of the fastest-growing wearable market in the world. The Apple AirPods were the most selling TWS Earphones last year with 27% share. Both AirPods 2nd gen and AirPods Pro contributed to the sales.

The AirPods Pro was launched in India last November. It’s clear that even with the premium pricing starting at around Rs. 14,000 for the AirPod and Rs. 25,000 for the AirPod Pro, consumers, prefer these products from Apple. Unlike the US, the Indian market is filled with cheap knock-offs and other brands getting ‘inspired’ from the AirPod design. The AirPods have features like touch control, wear detection and better sound than most competitors.

The second position in the market is held by Noise. This company has an array of TWS Earbuds under the ‘Shots’ Series. Noise owns 12% of the market. The shots series include Shots X5, Shots X1 Air which is one of the most selling TWS Earbuds from the brand. These two products hold 4th and 5th position in the Best-Selling TWS statistics of 2019.

JBL and Samsung TWS Earbuds got them 3rd and 4th position in sales respectively. The JBL C100TWS and galaxy Buds Series turned out to be very promising for the brands.

With 7% market share Realme made it to the 5th position in the list with just one product. The Realme Buds Air is the sole offering from the brand. This earned them 7% of the market. Unlike its alternatives, Realme Buds is the only one with Wear detection under a budget price of Rs. 4,000. Rumours claim that Realme is getting read with a lighter version named ‘Realme Buds Air Neo’ and a more premium version called ‘Realme Buds Air Pro’ to drive the wearable sales further.
