It is officially announced that Instagram now has 17 new sticker packs along with an updated DM sticker tray, nicknames for users, and location sharing to Instagram DM. It is worth mentioning that Instagram is now offering over 300 new stickers inside the new sticker packs. The new update will also enable you to set any sticker in the chat as a favourite and you can able to reuse the stickers which are shared by friends.
The update is also bringing the capability of location sharing in DM and the feature will enable you to share your location with friends for up to one hour in 1:1 or group chats. You can also be able to pin a spot on the map on Instagram. It is also promised that the location will be shared only with the recipients in the specific chat and the same will not be forwarded to others. Instagram will also feature an indicator on top of the chat and the feature is currently available only in selected countries.
Apart from that, now you can be able to customize names across DM inboxes by adding nicknames. It is worth mentioning that the nicknames will only be displayed in chats and it will not change the IG handles. It is also said that you can be able to control who can change the nicknames in chats.
