In the latest update of Instagram, the application has introduced the new reposts feature and it is basically the retweet feature of Twitter. You can repost public reels and feeds. Your reposts will be recommended to your friends and followers in their feeds.
The new reposts feature will also be available in a separate tab on your profile. So you or others who visit your profile can always go back and check out your reposts.
It is worth mentioning that the reposts will be credited to the original poster. So when your public reels and posts are reposted, they’re recommended to that person’s followers, even if those people don’t follow you as well. Instagram will also enable you to add a note to any repost by simply typing into the ‘thought bubble’ and the same will be appearing on screen once you’ve smash the repost icon.
The latest update of Instagram has also introduced a new feature which is actually copied from Snapchat, and it is the Instagram Map. This particular feature will enable you opt into sharing your last active location with the friends of your choice. Instagram will enable you to turn it off at any time, and open the map to see content your friends and favorite creators are posting from “cool spots”.
Instagram has also introduced a new Friends tab in Reels and this will showcase public content your friends have interacted with or recommendations from Blends you’ve started. Instagram will be rolling out the new features globally very soon.
