The most favourite social media application Instagram offers a standalone messaging application called Direct, and now the company has announced that it is going to shut down the Instagram Direct messaging application. However, the company didn’t reveal the exact timeline of the shutting down but said, that will happen in the coming month.
The company says that the team will focus everything of the direct messaging feature in the main Instagram application, and the users of the standalone Direct messaging app are now being greeted with the message which simply reads ‘it is going away’.

The users of the Direct messaging app does not need to worry about losing the conversations because the company says that all the conversation will automatically move over to Instagram.
Having said that, the new move is the part of the company’s new plan to make the backend of its various application accessible from a single platform which means users can able to message from any of the Facebook-owned application, and that can be accessed from all other applications.
