The popular social media platform Instagram has officially introduced the latest Teen Accounts for users in India and it is worth mentioning that this particular feature was originally announced last year in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada. Instagram has introduced the latest Teen Accounts by making the accounts private by default which means you need to approve your new followers and Teen Accounts users can receive messages only from the accounts that they follow.
The Teen Accounts are placed under most restrictive content settings by default and this will restrict the access on sensitive content. Moreover, the Teen Accounts will be notified to exit the app after the daily usage of 60 minutes. It also features Sleep Mode and the same will be enabled between 10PM to 7AM which will mute notifications and DMs overnight.
Teen Accounts will be restricted from tagging or mentions and the platform has also activated the anti-bullying feature, Hidden Words, in Teen Accounts by default.
Having said that, Instagram is also offering supervision features for parents in this Teen Accounts. The supervision features will enable parents to monitor their kids’ accounts and parents can also make changes to their account settings as well. Users under 16 years of age, require parents approval for any changes in settings.
