Apple had a tradition of bringing chipsets from Intel for its laptops and desktops but the company moved away from them once with the self develo M-series chips. Now we got a new piece of information that says the company is going back to Intel with a new deal.
In the latest deal, the popular chipset maker Intel will not only developed chipsets for Apple laptops and desktops but it will be developing chipsets for iPhone models as well. Apple is actually want to not depend completely on TSMC for chip fabrication.
GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu says he and his colleagues now expect that the deal between Intel and Apple will be finalized for at least some non-Pro iPhone A-series chips to be supplied starting in 2028.
