Apple had released a first public beta of iOS 13.4.5 earlier this April, and now they are releasing another. A third beta brings in a few changes and even renames the version.
This third beta is available for iPhone users who have already enrolled in the Apple Beta Program. The OS shifts its number from iOS 13.4.5 to iOS 13.5 and brings COVID-19 exposure notification API. This helps the authorities to track possibly affected people and also helps affected users to seek medical help faster. This API is now out for developers who can make use of it in their apps. The company also allows users to opt-in and out of the COVID-19 exposure notification feature.
Another feature that Apple brings with this update makes it easier for iPhone users to unlock their phone. IF the camera detects a face mask on the user’s face, it quickly avoids scanning face and jumps to the passcode keyboard using which the user can manually enter the pin to unlock the phone. This helps users save time.
The reason behind the renaming is because the API uses a different API from iOS 13.4. This lead to the version being renamed from iOS 13.4.5 to iOS 13.5.
