Apple started making iPhones on the soil of India in 2016 and the company has now started to reduce its reliance on China for the past few months. The company already has multiple factories to make iPhones in India and Tata Group has now become the first Indian company and the third contractor of Apple to make iPhones.
Today we got a new piece of information that says the company might make iPhone 17 in India and the company is targarting to double up the production capacity. The company is planning to increase its iPhone manufacturing capacity in India to 25 percentage.
It is worth mentioning that currently 12 to 14% of global iPhones in 2023 are made in India units. It is also suggested that Apple will start the iPhone 17 production in India in the second half of next year and this will mark the first time as the company is manufacturing a new iPhone model outside China.
