The iQOO 13 Legend is one of the superstars of 2024 and the flagship smartphone was introduced with heavy specifications with an aggressive pricing. The device was introduced with the power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a buttery-smooth 144Hz AMOLED display, and an iconic BMW M-inspired tricolor design.
However, the device has disappointed me completely as the Powerhouse iQOO 13 Legend display unexpectedly turned completely green, leaving an otherwise high-end smartphone entirely unusable.
It happened during normal, everyday usage. At first glance, the sudden shift in green colour looked like an overlay or a full-screen advertisement. Within seconds, it became clear that this wasn’t a software glitch or an app artifact—the entire AMOLED display had turned solid green. The device was purchased with significant hard-earned money but turned into an expensive paperweight.
The situation is really frustrating, as the “green screen” or “green tint/line” issue is due to a total lack of user fault:
No Physical Drop: The phone wasn’t dropped, bumped, or subjected to pressure.
No Liquid Contact: There was zero exposure to moisture or environmental stress.
It is actually a pure Hardware/Software Complication. The green screen issue happens due to internal failures—either from display controller fatigue, ribbon cable degradation, panel hardware defects, or thermal issues linked to display driver software updates.
Now we don’t have any other option apart from going to the service centre, which means you have to take time out of a busy schedule. Even without having any surety about replacing the display for free of cost.
When consumers spend top tier money on flagship smartphones, they expect reliability and premium post-sales support. Facing a total display failure within just a few months of usage severely undermines trust in brand quality.
