It comes with a huge library of over 3,00,000 hours, and the company has merged all the content from JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. It also includes international content from partners like HBO, Disney, Paramount, and others. The platform will offer movies and web series in over 10 Indian languages with up to 4K resolution.
Subscribers can also watch the exciting games of various tournaments including ICC Cricket Tournaments, the IPL, WPL, and other domestic matches in India will also stream on this platform. The platform will also offer tournaments like Premiere League, Pro Kabaddi League, and the Wimbledon. The platform will also be integrated with AI-powered insights, advanced replays, and multiple camera angles.
It is worth mentioning that Reliance didn’t launch a new application but simply rebranded the existing Disney+ Hotstar app and website to JioHotstar and the company has updated the logo by making a new star shape with 7 points. It is also said that the current JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar subscribers will be seamlessly transitioned to the new platform.
JioHotstar will be bringing a new subscription model by offering free access to most content for a limited number of hours each month. The platform will also introduce Sparks, a new initiative designed to showcase India’s biggest digital creators.
