According to a new report by Counterpoint Research, the upcoming JioPhone 5G will be priced between ₹8,000 to ₹12,000 (Via). It is also reported that the company is waiting for the spreading of 5G network before the launching of the device in the market.
“Further, at some point in 2024, Jio will also be compelled to launch an affordable 5G mmWave + sub-6GHz smartphone as the cost deltas between the two have narrowed significantly from the overall BoM (bill of materials) fitting perspective,” the report said. Via
JioPhone 5G is developing with the collaboration of Google and the same is believed to arrive with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution. The device is also believed to feature a dual-camera setup on the back panel with a 13MP primary lens which will be capable to record videos at 1080 pixels. The camera module will also feature a 2MP macro sensor. The device will also feature an 8MP front facing camera.
It is also believed that the upcoming JioPhone 5G could be powered by the 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G chipset along with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device is also believed to house a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
