During the Google I/O 2024, the Mountain View company Google officially announced the latest version of the Android TV operating system which is based on Android 14. The latest Android TV OS is focusing on reduced power consumption.
The developers of Android TV OS also brings the support for picture and picture mode and this will enable a form of multitasking with one application running in full screen and you can open another application in a small Window.
It will be offering various capabilities like ticker which means you will be getting livescore of sports or stock market. You can also use Smart Home which will be showing connected doors or baby monitors. You can also use video or voice calls while watching television. Fitness tracking or health monitoring can be possible in the small window as well.
Android TV OS is also promising improved performance and the startup times as well. The operating system is also getting Optimized Energy mode and the same will enable only vital features to connect to the network while the TV is off, including Google Cast and Google Assistant to function.
The new version of the operating system is also getting new accessibility features like colour correction along with enhanced text options and easier navigation.
