The South Korean electronics giant LG already confirmed its presence at the upcoming MWC 2019 event and the company is preparing to launch its latest flagship smartphone called LG G8 ThinQ. The company also teased the gesture feature of the upcoming flagship Smartphone and today the company has announced yet another feature that will bring a huge smile on the face of selfie lovers.
LG has announced that it will join its hands with Infineon Technologies AG to unveil Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology in the upcoming LG G8 ThinQ’s front facing camera. Well, if you are unaware of the ToF camera. then it will calculate an object’s distance through the lens of the camera. And it will give more accurate measurements by capturing infrared light as it is reflected off the subject. This will help faster processing, and better lighting for the subject, which means you will get an amazing picture. Furthermore, the ToF can be used for faster biometric authentication methods as well since it is not affected by light from external sources.
That’s not all, the ToF can offer faster Face Unlock, along with better structural processing of the face. ToF is known to deliver excellent results in AR applications as well, so LG may attempt at Animojis as well. That’s all for now, you can read all the available information of the device on our dedicated page.
