The South Korean electronics brand LG announced its 5G enabled smartphone called LG V50 ThinQ 5G at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 event. Well, now the brand announces its availability details of the smartphone. So, without wasting any time let’s dive into the article to know the details.
LG will sell the all new V50 ThinQ 5G in its home market of South Korea on April 19. The company’s first 5G device will cost KRW 1.19M (€940/$1,060) for the sole available 6GB + 128GB variant. Having said that, if you purchase the smartphone before the month of May then you will get a bundled Dual Screen accessory that’s normally worth KRW 219,000 (around €172/$193) for free of cost.
Specifications of LG V50 ThinQ 5G:
As the name suggests, this smartphone supports 5G connectivity. It is the first smartphone of LG to have 5G. Design wise it still looks similar to its predecessor. It sports a 6.4 inch AMOLED display with Quad HD+ (3120×1440) resolution and 537ppi. It has 19.5:9 aspect ratio with last year’s notch and 83% screen to body ratio. This display is HDR 10 as well as Dolby Vision supported. All this is protected with Gorilla Glass 5. It comes with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 octa core processor with X50 modem and Adreno 640 GPU. It has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with expandable storage up to 512GB.
Optics wise, this smartphone has Triple Camera Setup on the back. Primary is the 12MP sensor with an f/1.5 lens, 1.4µm pixel size, dual pixel PDAF, and 3-axis OIS. The secondary camera is a 12MP Telephoto sensor with an f/2.4 lens, 2x optical zoom, 1.0µm pixel size, PDAF, and OIS. Lastly, the third camera is a 16MP ultra wide-angle sensor with an f/1.9 lens, 1.0µm pixel size, and fixed focus. It can record videos up to 4k at 60fps, HDR videos, and 24-bit stereo sound at 192kHz. On the front, there is an 8MP primary sensor with an f/1.9 lens and 1.4µm pixel size. The secondary camera is a 5MP sensor with f/2.2 lens and 1.4µm pixel size. The front camera can record videos up to Full HD at 60fps.
This LG V50 ThinQ 5G runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with LG’s custom skin on top. It packs in a big 4000mAh battery with 18W Quick Charging 3 and 10W Qi fast wireless charging support. Unlike most of the 2019 flagships, LG is sticking with rear mounted fingerprint sensor. It has stereo speakers with DTS : X surround sound and 3.5mm jack with 32-bit audio. There is IP68 certification as well as Military Standards 810G design for durability. Connectivity wise it has 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, Stereo FM Radio, aptX HD, and Type-C port.
