Back in September at IFA 2019 event, LG unveiled their latest flagship smartphone named as LG G8X ThinQ. This is LG’s first smartphone to have dual displays, and technically triple display. This device had all the latest tech like new technology display, flagship processor, and good optics. But there’s no support for the 5G connectivity. Now today they launched this device with 5G connectivity, but it has another name.
LG V50S ThinQ is now official in South Korea, which is essentially the G8X ThinQ but with 5G connectivity now. It has Qualcomm’s 5G modem which is supported only by Snapdragon 855 and 855 Plus processors. Thus this device has Snapdragon 855 processor instead of latest Plus model. It sports a 6.4 inch OLED 1080p+ display with HDR support and water drop notch. There’s a 12MP primary camera along with a 13MP wide angle camera. On front there’s 32MP single camera. Pricing & Availability:
- LG V50S ThinQ is priced at $1,199
- It will go on sale in South Korea from tomorrow.
- At an event in South Korea, buyers will get a free LG homebrew, to make their own beer at home (organic beer 😜)
- No information about the availability in other regions, but expected to arrive in North America and Europe because there are 5G networks available.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Along with the first dual display smartphone by LG, this is the first dual display 5G smartphone by the company as well. As of now we don’t know whether this or even it’s 4G variant will come to big smartphone markets, such as India or not? What are your thoughts on this 5G model of LG V50S ThinQ?
