Along with the Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition, the company unveiled the Mi 8 SE at the annual product launch event in China. Well, the Mi 8 SE is the lite version of the Mi 8. So, let’s dive into the article to know more about the device.
The Mi 8 SE sports 5.88 inch Always-On AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass atop, along with 18.7:9 aspect ratio and has 2248 X 1080 pixels resolution, the device also features notch on the top of the display. The device is powered by Snapdragon 710 processor. and the device is the first smartphone with this SoC, the device is paired with 4/6 GB RAM, along with Adreno 616 GPU. In terms of storage, the device has 64 GB internal storage.
Speaking about the photography department, the device features dual camera setup at the rear side with the combination of 12 megapixel + 5 megapixel with 1.4 µm pixel size, Dual Pixel Auto-focus, AI Scene Detection, AI Portrait Mode and LED flash, the device also features 20 megapixel with AI Beauty Mode, and AI Portrait Mode.
In terms of connectivity, the device supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, and GPS. For security option, the device supports the fingerprint scanner. The device runs on Android Oreo 8.1 which is based on MIUI 9 and it can update to the brand new MIUI 10, and the device is backed on 3,120 mAh.
Pricing and availability
The 4 GB RAM variant is priced at ¥1799 (approx. ₹18,950), and the 6 GB RAM variant has the price tag of ¥1999 (approx. ₹21,054). The device will be available in China from June 8 and there is no information about the availability of the device in other parts of the world.
