Microsoft has officially announced that the company is updating the design of the very useful Windows Run dialog, the small box that pops up when we press the shortcut Win + R.
The company has also shared the first look at the new Windows Run dialog window for the Windows 11 operating system. The company is not only updating the user interface but the company is suggesting that the tool has now been written from scratch to make it open faster. The company is also offering a look that matches Windows 11 Fluent Design and fully supports Dark Mode.
It is also said that the updated Windows Run dialog can appear on the screen in 94ms after giving the command. The company has also removed the Browse button, and the company says that it has very low usage, with only 0.0038% of users having clicked it in a sample of 35 million. So that’s why it has been removed. It will enable you to access directly to quickly, in which users can now type ~\ to jump to their user directory.
Microsoft is currently offering the updated version to current Insider builds of Windows as an opt-in feature, and is limited to those in the Windows Insider Experimental Channel, but we believe that it will be available very soon in the stable version.
