Microsoft has been issuing a security update to deal with buggy firmware updates which caused a spontaneous reboot.
Microsoft has been issuing updates for Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 systems to disable protection against Spectre variant 2. Before the update, the system could restart often which causes data loss. This update is a manual update which can be updated by manually for now. Microsoft is also issuing a new registry key setting for affected devices which allows IT admins to disable the protections.
Before releasing this update, Microsoft has not tested it properly, that is the reason the software parts remains buggy. This also affected many machines around the world. Currently, the updates are in development stage, l believe that Microsoft will test the firmware thoroughly to prevent these kinds of activities in future.
