Microsoft To Make Their Own CPU For Surface Devices

Last year Apple landed into the field of making own CPUs for their Mac devices. The M1 Processor on MacBook Air M1 showed the possibilities of perfect software with perfect hardware. Now seems like Microsoft is learning something from Apple.

Last month Microsoft posted a job vacancy on their career page which indicates that they are planning to make their own custom CPUs. The vacancy was for “Director of SoC Architecture”. This post is clearly for direction in SoC (processor) making. In the job description they also mentioned that they need to get someone to define the features and capabilities used on Surface devices.

But that doesn’t mean Microsoft never made their own CPU. They actually used a custom made CPU in Surface Pro 8 and Surface Laptop Studio, but that chip is specifically made for more precise use of Surface Slim Pen 2. So, are your excited to see custom CPU in Surface device? Let us know in the comment section below.
