To make things easier for the foreign visitors in the country, the Ministry of Tourism and BSNL join hands to offer free SIM cards to foreign tourist with e-Visa.

Ministry of Tourism and Culture, has launched a new initiative for the foreign tourist. The new initiative offers free SIM cards to the foreign tourists arriving in India on e-Visa. The government has partnered with the state run telecom company, BSNL to offer the SIM for connectivity service to the visitors.
The free BSNL SIM cards will come with ₹50 talktime and 50 MB data, this service is currently available at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, which is located in New Delhi. And the offer will be eventually rolled out to all the 15 international airports with e-Visa facility.
To get the free BSNL SIM card for tourists, need to submit a copy of the e-Visa and the first page of the Passport. The SIM would be issued immediately and would be activated instantly.
