MIUI 12 Rollout details have been leaked online, and the private beta is expected to roll out from September. The roadmap was spotted in a post titled ‘MIUI 12 Official and Update Schedule’ on a community website. Even though the posts were removed, the information still got out, thanks to a few screenshots available online.
Back in January Xiaomi had teased that the MIUI 12 will be based on Android 11 and that the new version will have new system font and minimalistic design of the MUI 11.
A user, Piunukaweb got hold of this information from the community post, and it claimed that the rollout would begin with a private beta in September followed by a beta version for selected devices. But the official launch is slated for December this year. A Chinese publication ITHome also corroborates this information. However, take this information with a pinch of salt. One hint of an imminent launch was a test participation link for MIUI 12 on the website but, the link died soon after.
The MIUI 12 marks the tenth anniversary of the custom interface from Xiaomi. In addition, the company began its foray into the tech industry as a software developer with the introduction of MIUI. Earlier, the skin was available for a vast majority of devices and anyone who wished to try, and one could flash them on eligible devices.
