Just a few hours ago today, Xiaomi took wraps off MIUI 12 which promises improved privacy and refined user experience among other features. However, the company claims they have already started working on MIUI 13. The confirmation comes from Xiaomi and it is not a rumour.
MIUI User Research Team shared a post on the MI Community China right after the launch of MIUI 12. The post asks Xiaomi users to participate in a ‘Feature Design Survey’ for the upcoming iteration of MIUI. However, the smartphone maker is yet to roll out stable versions of the latest MIUI 12 builds. This reiterates their commitment to its users and reminds of their wording that goes, ‘Dedication has no limitation’.
We should remember how Xiaomi began its journey as a software company by designing MIUI first. This happened before Xiaomi establishing themselves as a manufacturer of smartphones or other gadgets. During the presentation of the launch of MIUI, the company head said, ‘Software is the soul of mobile phones, and it is more important that hardware to so,e extent’.
The MIUI 13 will make it to Xiaomi users in the first half of next year. But the MIUI 12 update is expected to roll out from June of 2020. The company has divided the devices into three batches scheduled for the update. Currently, few devices are missing in the list but we hope more devices makes its way as the team launches the software globally. Additionally, closed beta builds are scheduled to be released to eligible devices from today with open betas rolling out from May 8th. To know more about the features in MIUI 12, click here.
