As mentioned earlier, Motorola today unveiled a smartphone which gets many features as first time for the OEM, Motorola One Hyper. This smartphone has many new things and upgrades which the company used for first time. It’s a very feature packed mid-range smartphone as compared to previous Motorola devices. So without further ado, let’s have a look at what this One Hyper has inside.
Design & Display:
Starting off with the design, this Motorola One Hyper is the first Motorola smartphone having a pop-up front camera. It’s single camera inside which is also the best Motorola get till date, but we will talk about it a bit later. Now as this one has pop-up camera, it’s a full screen panel of 6.5 inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ (2340×1080) resolution and 396 pixel density (ppi). It has 19:9 aspect ratio and regarding protection they didn’t mentioned anything, so we have to suppose no screen protection here.
Now moving to the back, it just had dual camera setup. Above camera ’64MP’ is mentioned, which is the primary sensor used here. And also there’s a fingerprint sensor, as the display is IPS LCD not OLED, so no in-display fingerprint sensor here. The back is covered with reflective polycarbonate plastic with gradient colours. And speaking about colours, this smartphone comes with Blue Ocean, Amber Red, and Fresh Orchid colour options.
Camera:
Now speaking about the camera, as I mentioned above it just has dual camera setup. But the primary one is 64MP Samsung ISOCELL sensor with f1.8 aperture, 0.8μm pixel size, and PDAF. For close-ups there’s laser autofocus as well. Sadly optical stabilization is not present and the company didn’t even mentioned about any electronic stabilization as well. Then the secondary camera is 8MP wide angle lens with 118° field of view.
It can record videos up to 4K at 30fps. The front camera is a 32MP sensor in that pop-up setup, and this is the first Motorola smartphone having 32MP front camera. Both front and rear camera had Quad Bayer filter which claims to gives some impressive low light shots. Though we can’t just give verdict on camera with seeing the results, but it would be better if another telephoto lens would be present here.
Performance & Other Specs:
Now coming to the internals, this Motorola One Hyper comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 octa core processor clocked at 2.0Ghz and built on 11nm process. For graphics it has Adreno 612 GPU. Though we have seen this processor in slightly older phones like Redmi Note 7 Pro, but it’s still a good one. It has 4GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage. There’s MicroSD card support up to 1TB. This device runs on latest Android 10 with Android One support i.e. fast & regular updates up to 2 years. Also, those Moto Actions are also present here.
It packs in a 4,000mAh battery with support of 45W Hyper Charging. And we didn’t expected this from Motorola because highest fast charging by the company is 18W, so it’s a big jump. But again the 45W charger has to be bought separately, only 15W charger is included in the box. It has single speaker only. For connectivity it has 4G, dual Wi-Fi, dual SIM, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Type-C port. It’s a heavy device weighing at 210 grams and is 8.9mm thick.
Pricing & Availability:
- In USA it’s priced at $400 (₹28,000)
- In Brazil it’s priced at BRL 2,200 (₹37,500)
- It’s available in both USA and Brazil right now.
- It will launch in UK soon, the date and price is unknown.
- No information about the availability in other regions.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Why the converted Indian price is different from both USA and Brazil? Because Brazilian electronic price is very high so just wanted to point out that. But if comparing to USA price, it’s overpriced smartphone. At this price we start to get value flagships and Motorola is giving Snapdragon 675. It would be better if they even gave Snapdragon 700 series processor.
