Netflix Introduces its First Mobile Games on Android

A few months ago, Netflix announced its own gaming service, Netflix Mobile Gaming, which made its debut in Poland with two Stranger Things mobile games. Now, the service is expanding to other areas.

How it works?

The Netflix app can be used to detect games as a personal download and verify Netflix account credentials before loading them. Some games require an active internet connection to stay playing, but there are some games that work completely offline. However, in such a case, you still need an internal connection to verify your Netflix credentials while the game is loading.

This new game feature for the Netflix app also supports multiple, simultaneous logins depending on your account type, as it is basically the same as a streaming service. That means that everyone can log in and play games at the same time until the maximum device limit of the account is reached. Once the device has reached its maximum limit, you will receive an alert similar to how it works for video streaming.

Which Games Are Available?

Games coming to the platform include two smartphone-friendly games based on the Stranger Things service and three arcade-y tap-action games. All of these titles were previously launched on smartphone store fronts. However, as part of Netflix games, they have been updated to work without any down payment or hidden subtle deals.

  • Stranger Things: 1984S
  • StrangerThings 3: The Game
  • Shooting Hoops
  • Card Blast
  • Teeter Up

Although all games are child-friendly, they are listed as adult content. Therefore, you will need to enter the zip code to access them using your children’s account.

Netflix has announced that its gaming services will be available in more than 190 countries, including the United States. Users still need to own an Android-based smartphone or tablet to play games.

The company states that an active Netflix subscription is required to play the games and there are no ads, no extra fees, no micro transactions. As mentioned, the service is currently limited to Android devices, but the company says iOS support will be released in the coming months.
