Google is scheduled to host its event where the company showcases the latest gadgets this Wednesday. The event will see devices like new Pixel phones, a new Nest Home speaker, and a new Chromecast. But a day before the official announcement, the new Google Chromecast went on sale at Walmart and Home Depot.
The Reddit posts sharing the news also offers us a glimpse of the new Chromecast boxes with a label that says, Chromecast with Google TV”. The image confirms the rumour that the new streaming device will sport a new look and a dedicated remote to control it. It’s expected to include support for Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, DTSX, HDR10+, as well as support for h.265 streams, and 4K resolution.
In addition, we do have other leaks that point to the complete spec sheet of the device. It will feature 2 GB RAM and 4154 MB of storage. The device houses a USB-C port for plugging in the adapter and an HDMI extension to plug it into the TV. The remote seems to lack IR transmitter, suggesting the remote will be paired to the dongle via Bluetooth.
