Intel has announced the all-new 11th Gen Intel Core H-series processors that consist of Core i5-11260H, Core i5-11400H, Core i7-11800H, Core i9-11900H, and the range-topping Core i9-11980HK. These processors come with up to 8 cores, 16 threads, and 65W TDP. Let us examine each product in detail.
The new 11th Gen Intel Core H-series is a revamped version of the tries and tested 0th Gen Intel Core H-series which was presented a year ago. Compared to the predecessor, the 11th Gen Intel Core-H Series is built on 10nm SuperFin architecture whereas the 10th Gen processors were made on 14nm architecture.
The company claims that the new generation processors can attain a maximum clock speed of 5GHz. It also supports DDR4 memory at 3200MHz which is better than the previous generation as it had a 2993MHz speed. To facilitate faster data transfer, it supports PCIe Gen4 which promises 2x improvements as compared to Gen3. It can also support up to 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes.
Coming to the GPU, the 11th Gen Intel Core H-series chipsets feature Intel UHD graphics with 32 EUs, which is based on Intel Xe GPU layer hence supports displays with up to 4K resolution combined with 120Hz. Speaking of connectivity, it supports Thunderbolt 4 with a maximum speed of 40Gbps and Wi-Fi 6E.
Intel claims that the maxed-out Core i9-11980HK processor features up to 26% better performance when compared to its rival AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX for selected titles. The company also promises that the ore i9-11980H is up to 21% faster than its predecessor – 10980HK which can be achieved while gaming.
