New Leaks Of OnePlus 5 Hints For The Launch Date & Thickness

As we are getting new the launch of OnePlus 5, the flood of leaks are coming on internet very rapidly. Recently we got some leaks of OnePlus 5 regarding Dual Camera & Battery capacity, the capacity of battery also considers to be the thinner form factor of OnePlus 5. Now today we have 2 different reports, 1st in regards to the phone’s thickness and 2nd for the launch date. So let’s see the look at both news..

Let’s 1st talk about the launch date news, a photo on Weibo got leaked of the calendar of May, circling the date 20 & saying : “Save the date”. But there’s a caption also which says that the OnePlus 5 might launch on 20th June, rather than 15th June. So seems like OnePlus 5 might launch in China on 20th June, but maybe in other markets like India, it will launch on 15th June.

Now coming to the 2nd news that’s regarding to the thickness, Pete Lau (CEO of OnePlus) posted a statement on Weibo that OnePlus 5 will be the thinnest flagship phone. Well we don’t know that are they talking about all flagship phones or just OnePlus flagship phones, because if he is comparing with all flagships then they should make OnePlus 5 with the thickness of just 5mm or below as the Moto Z is 5.1mm thin (& that’s a flagship though). Here is the translated statement of Pete Lau below :

“Remember that OnePlus 3 release, a lot of media to get the first sentence of the phone is “wow Oh, very thin, feel good.” OnePlus 5 I believe it is the thinnest flagship phone, and did not sacrifice other use experience. This is the daily pondering, and constantly adjust the value of the output after 0.05mm.”
