The smartphone displays are getting more seamless from past few years. From curved display to lesser bezels to all display front, we have seen a lot. Few brands like Xiaomi are trying to develop 360° display I.e., one display all over the front, side, and back. But as of now that’s just a concept and it’s not ready for normal use. Till then companies are focusing more on all display on front. Now seems like Huawei is also jumping in this category to make seamless display.
Huawei has filed a new patent for “Arc Display” which is a full screen on front and sides. As you can see from the images below, this Arc display will have virtual buttons on the sides. These are power button, volume keys, number keys, and notifications as well. This display will also be compatible for under display front camera. Going by the records, we might see this display in Huawei’s Mate lineup, probably in Mate 50 Pro.

Technizo Concept has made a 3D rendered preview of Huawei Mate 50 Pro with this Arc display, which you can see below. This gives us a clear look on how the phone will look like with no bezel + side display.
As of now we don’t know when and on which phone Huawei will bring this Arc display. And even if they cancel to implement this tech successfully or not. But if it will come then the display scene would become interesting in commercial smartphone displays. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Huawei can make side displays practical without ghost touches? Let us know in the comment section below.
