OnePlus launched their flagship lineup – OnePlus eight and OnePlus 8 Pro last month. These phones boasted of Fast 30 Watt Wireless Charging. However, there was one feature where OnePlus competitors have been racing ahead – faster-wired charging.
The 30 Watt charger seen with the current OnePlus phones was launched with OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, which came way back in December 2018. Since them, other smartphone makers have rushed past the 30W mark. Even OnePlus’ sister company, Realme had introduced 50 Watt charger that charges the Realme X2 Pro in 30 minutes last year.
According to rumours that are about to change. Several reports claim that OnePlus has certified a faster 65W charger at TUV Rheinland for the OnePlus 8T Series. That is if they decide to launch one. If not we will have to wait till OnePlus 9 next year, to see OnePlus catching up. The 65W charger is rated at 10V with 6.5A current.
As of now, Oppo is expected to debut this charger with the upcoming Oppo Ace launching soon. Currently, OnePlus 8 Pro takes half an hour to charge its 4,510 mAh battery from 0 to 63%. In comparison, the new 65W charger the total time to charge a similar capacity battery from 0 to 100% could be under 45minutes. The 65W charger debuted with the Oppo Find X2 Pro which needed just 30 minutes to reach 95% of its 4,260 mAh battery.
