With their new flagship smartphone OnePlus 5T, the Chinese smartphone OEM OnePlus bought their own face unlocking feature without any specific hardware like iPhone X, and there’s not much difference in unlocking the phone between both the phones. Now seems like the previous OnePlus flagship can also use this feature.
Carl Pie, Co-founder of OnePlus, tweeted that they are going to add the face unlock feature in OnePlus 5 as well. He said “Due to popular demand, Face Unlock is coming for the OnePlus 5. Thanks for the feedback, and merry Christmas!”. Now this is a very good news for OnePlus 5 users, as really nailed with their face unlock technology as it’s giving almost same feature at half the price of iPhone X. Though due to more advanced hardware components, iPhone X is a bit more secured than OnePlus 5T, & soon OnePlus 5 as well.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. For OnePlus 5 users, this is surely one of the best Christmas ever. The OEM will mostly give this feature in next or 2nd next OTA update.
