The OnePlus 6T smartphone was the king of 2018 and the company presented the device with the power of the Snapdragon 845 flagship mobile processor along with an in-display fingerprint scanner and it is the first smartphone of the brand to feature the same. Now the device is making headlines once again for the ability to run dual operating systems on the board.
The device is spotted with Android 13 and OpenHarmony 4.0 in a dual-boot configuration. The A slot of the smartphone is running on Android 13, while the B slot runs OpenHarmony 4.0.
The developer was successful to run the OpenHarmony 4.0 operating system onto the OnePlus 6T smartphone by using OpenHarmony 3.2 Beta 5 as the basis for the project and the kernel is based on Linux 6.1 which is also supporting OpenHarmony’s mainline 5.10 kernel version. The new set up will enable the OnePlus 6T run on both the Android and OpenHarmony operating systems.
It is worth mentioning that the device was announced with Android 9.0 and the smartphone brand updated the device to Android 11 in its last major software update.
