It was recently confirmed that the popular Chinese smartphone brand Oppo and the popular flagship brand OnePlus has merged and it was also announced the merge of OxygenOS codebase with Oppo’s ColorOS. It is also confirmed that the company will switch to the integrated codebase on its existing smartphones with the update of Android 12. Now the company has confirmed that its upcoming smartphone will be the first to feature the new software setup.
In an interview with XDADevelopers, the popular Chinese flagship maker OnePlus confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 will be the first device of the brand to run on OxygenOS v11.3 based on an integrated codebase out of the box.
The company explains that the new decision is taken to streamline resources and it is also revealed that the merging includes all the resources including the R&D will be common for both brands which will offer a streamlined experience.
It is officially confirmed that the upcoming device will be official on July 22 and the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is confirmed to be powered by a customized Dimensity 1200-AI chip. Both the companies have collaborated to develop this particular chip and it is coming with enhanced artificial intelligence features.
The processor has enhanced features for the camera and display department of the upcoming smartphone and it is said that the device can able to identify 22 different photography scenes and the same can automatically adjust colour while taking a photo.
The device is expected to feature 50 megapixel primary sensor on the back and it will run on the latest version of the Android Operating System out of the box. It is also believed that the upcoming smartphone will support a fast charging solution as well.
