OnePlus always try to give useful features to their users both with hardware and software. We often see new features in OnePlus phones via software updates which are actually very useful, and not for just sake of giving it. OnePlus usually takes surveys from their users through the community forum. Recently OnePlus released new OTA update on OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6, which has support of Deep Integration with Google Duo. Seems like OnePlus will take this feature further.
OnePlus has announced that other devices like OnePlus 5/5T and OnePlus 3/3T will also get Deep Integration with Google Duo soon. Some of you may ask what this integration will do? Anyone can install Google Duo on their Android smartphones and use it very easily. But with this integration, OnePlus users will get options to make video calls right from system apps like Dialer, Contacts, and Messaging apps. This will come really handy for those who do video calls very frequently and use Google Duo. Thought in many countries users only use WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook video callings. But last year OnePlus did a survey in their forum on video calling capabilities, and to be surprised Google Duo was ranked first in terms of call quality. And probably that is the reason why OnePlus integrated this in their system apps.
OnePlus 6/6T users already got the feature with their latest Oxygen OS update 9.0.4 and 9.0.12 respectively. OnePlus 5/5t users will get it with upcoming OOS 9.0.4, and lastly OnePlus 3/3T will get this feature with Android Pie update (another confirmation that the Pie on OnePlus 3/3T is still in pipeline).
So that’s all the information we have as of now. We know that most of the users rely on WhatsApp and Instagram video calling, but trust me Google Duo offers better video calling experience with same internet speeds.
