Along with the OnePlus 7T, the Great Indian Sale will also bring the OnePlus TV which is the first television of the company and users who have Amazon Prime membership can able to purchase the device at 12:00 p.m. today. And if you are non Prime member then you can purchase the device from midnight onwards which means Sunday 12:00 a.m.
Specifications of OnePlus TV
The television has two variants of this TV, OnePlus TV Q1, and Q1 Pro. First, let’s talk about sound because that’s where the only difference between both models is. Both Q1 and Q1 Pro has 50W sound output with Dolby Atmos support. But the Q1 Pro has this 50W output in an in-built motorized soundbar, which is attached at the bottom of the TV. It automatically pop-up when the TV gets turned on. There are total 8 speakers in this soundbar, out of which 2 subwoofers are at the backside and 6 speakers are pointed at the front. So this makes it a surround sound system. And also the only area where it differentiates to regular Q1.
Talking about the display, both have 55 inch QLED panel that has 4K resolution. It is an HDR10 display with Dolby Vision support for vivid colours. The Q in QLED stands for Quantum, which means this display has Quantum dot pixels which are better than regular AMOLED and IPS panels in terms of vividness and contrast. There’s a Gama Magic Colour picture processor which also helps to enhance the colours, contrast and other elements. The back of these TVs has carbon fibre finish with designer stand. Both models can be wall-mounted, but the Q1 Pro will come a bit forward from the wall due to the soundbar.
Both variants runs on Android TV 9.0 Pie out of the box with OnePlus optimizations on it. There’s Oxygen Play which lists out content from various platforms into one place based on the genre and user habits/requirements. This TV stream content from various services like Zee5, Eros Now, and the biggie Amazon Prime. But as of now, Netflix is not available, the officials said that it will be available in coming months. There’s an app called OnePlus Connect for Android smartphones, through which we can connect the TV and control it directly from the smartphone. We can also cast local media from this app to the TV as well.
There’s Smart Volume Control, which will lower the volume of the TV whenever a call is being received in the connected smartphone. There’s also a feature called TypeSync, through which we can type from our smartphone to search for something. Also, there’s support for Google Assistant through the remote as well. Talking about the remote, it is very minimalistic with very few buttons on it. And it’s rechargeable via Type-C cable.
