We know how OnePlus lead the innovation to bring fast charging technology in smartphones. OnePlus phones were always known for their charging speeds. Now the company is aiming to offer public charging station in various cities across India for smartphone users.
It was first spotted by a Senior XDADevelopers member in the settings in Android 11 Beta of OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. He found out an option is settings showing the locations of public charging stations. There were a string of functions suggesting the code for this feature according to him. What OnePlus aims to offer is a network of public charging stations throughout airports and malls that helped smartphone users to top-up their smartphones when it runs out of juice.
OnePlus equipped these charging stations with BLE Beacons that broadcast the locations to nearby OnePlus devices. This can then be discovered in the OnePlus phone settings. It will help OnePlus users a great deal, as the company uses proprietary Warp branded charging technology at a rate of 30W.
The photo of one such public charging station was shared on social media. The charging station was located in an airport at Bengaluru. Upon close observation, you can find two USB Ports that support the Warp charging by OnePlus. There is another standard universal charging plug nearby. Evidently this station also flaunts the OnePlus logo and Warp Charge branding. Any user with an adapter or a charging cable can also make use of this facility.
It is possible that the company will soon provide similar charging station across various locations in India.
