The Chinese mobile manufacturer has launched the Oppo A53s 5G in India. It is the cheapest 5G handset in the country. It features a MediaTek SoC and has snatched the title of the cheapest 5G smartphone from Realme 8 5G, by whiskers. The smartphone is cheaper than Realme’s offering and offers more RAM for the price. As you might have guessed this smartphone also has a certain similarity with the Realme 5G smartphone. Let us explore the details of the Oppo A53s 5G in detail.

The Oppo A53s 5G features a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch setup and the same also offers 1,600 x 720 pixels resolution, along with an 89% screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset and coupled with 6/8GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the phone comes with 128 GB of internal storage.

The camera module placed on the backside of the Oppo A53s 5G features a 13-megapixel main snapper with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth assist lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera with f/2.4 aperture in both units. It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Regarding the connectivity options, the device supports 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, 3.5mm headphone jack GPS, and USB Type-C. The device is coming with a big 5000mAh battery. It runs on ColorOS 11.1 based Android 11 OS. The device weighs 189.6 grams

Pricing and availability

The pricing of Oppo A53s 5G starts at ₹14,990 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option is priced at ₹16,990. It will go on sale in the country from May 2nd, 12pm (noon) through Flipkart.com
