Just a couple of hours ago, we updated that the popular Chinese smartphone brand Oppo will be launching the new Oppo Reno 12 series in the global market on June 18 and today the company has officially confirmed the launching date and we got some other information as well. It is worth mentioning that the Oppo Reno 12 series was originally announced in the market of China last month and the global variants are expected to feature different specifications than the Chinese models.
The company has confirmed that the new Oppo Renault 12 series will be official on June 18 and the Malaysian branch of the smartphone brand has confirmed that the devices will be official in the market of Malaysia on June 27. This is suggesting that the company will be launching the devices in Europe on June 18 then the launching of the devices will be expanded to other parts of the world.
Based on the previous reports, both devices in the global market feature a 6.7-inch 3D AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate along with 2412 x 1080 pixels resolution and a peak brightness of 1200 nits. It is also HDR10+ certified and the devices will be offering 10-bit color depth. The vanilla variant will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and the upcoming Oppo Reno 12 Pro will be using Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
It is reported that the Reno 12 smartphone will feature a quad-camera setup that will be in the combination of a 50 MP main camera (Sony LYT-600) with OIS, an 8 MP wide-angle camera (Sony IMX355), a 2 MP macro camera (OV02B10), and a 32 MP selfie camera. On the other hand, the upcoming Oppo Reno 12 Pro features the same main and wide-angle cameras, but it also comes with a 50 MP telephoto camera (Samsung S5KJN5). It also comes with a 32 MP selfie camera. Both devices are reported to feature 4K video recording at 30fps along with multiple photo modes, including Night Photo, Professional Mode, Panorama, Portrait, Time-Lapse, and Slow Motion. The devices will also support 4K Dual Video and Google Lens.
The upcoming Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy processor with a Mali G615 GPU. 12GB + 256GB for the Reno 12 and 12GB + 512GB for the Reno 12 Pro, featuring LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, expandable up to 1TB. The smartphone series will also feature an IP65 rating.
It is reported that the smartphone series will be housing a large 5000 mAh battery along with 80W SUPERVOOC charging. They will feature 48-month Fluency Protection, an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo sound, and Ultra Volume Mode 300%. The devices will be running on Android 14 with ColorOS 14.1 out of the box. The smartphone series will also come with AI features including AI Eraser 2.0, AI Studio, AI Smart Image Matting 2.0, AI Portrait Retouching, and AI Clear Face, all with LinkBoost support. The devices will come with Dual Nano SIM, IR Blaster, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 6.
