Oppo has finally made the Reno5 5G and Reno5 Pro 5G official after all the hype and teasing. These devices come as the successor to the Reno 4 Series smartphones which were unveiled just months ago. The Pro model is powered by a flagship MediaTek processor and the Reno5 is powered by a mid-range Qualcomm SoC. These devices are nearly identical in almost every other way. Specification of Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G
It features a 6.55″ OLED Full HD+ Display with curves on both sides. The display panel gets a refresh rate with 90 Hz along with 180Hz touch sampling rate. It has a single punch hole for the selfie camera. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC. Both smartphones will be offered in either 8 + 128GB variant or 12 + 256GB memory configuration. The company has included LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage on both smartphones.
Coming to the optics, Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G has a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture along with support for Electronics Image Stabilisation (EIS). The secondary sensor is an 8MP ultrawide angle camera. Finally, there are two 2MP camera modules taking the rear camera count to four. Video footages can be shot at 30fps at 4K resolution. The front camera is of 32MP sensor and is placed inside the punch hole.
The phone comes equipped with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging technology and top-ups the 4,300 mAh battery in under 40 minutes. Regarding the connectivity options, the smartphones support 5G in both SA and NSA flavour, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port. It runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11 on top. It also comes face unlock and an in-display fingerprint scanner for added security.

Coming to the Oppo Reno5 5G, its identical to the Pro model in most ways. But it has a slightly smaller 6.44-inch OLED display with 1080p+ resolution. The display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate like the Pro model.
Its power by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset. The other aspects like camera battery and software are the same. But it lacks NFC in connectivity and steps down to WiFi 5. The one advantage with the smartphone is the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Pricing and Availability
The Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G starts at CNY3,400 ($520/€430) for the 8+128GB variant and the 12+256GB versions will retail for CNY 3,800. It has a fluorescent coating around the camera bump that makes it glow in the dark.
The Oppo Reno5 goes on pre-order for CNY 2,700 ($410/€340). If you want more RAM and storage it will set you back CNY 3,000. Both models are available for pre-order from JD.com in China.
