In the world of Android, custom skins are nothing new as all the popular smartphone brands are offering their version of a customized user interface to enhance the user experience of their users. The OxygenOS is one of the very popular and Fan favourite custom skins out in the market and it is developed by OnePlus. The company has recently announced the OxygenOS 14 globally and the same will be available in the stable version later next month.
Today the top most executives of the company interacted with a Publication and revealed a vital piece of information about its custom skin and that will definitely disappoint the fans of the custom skin.
Before getting into the matter, let me say that OxygenOS was very popular because of its clean and stock user interface but the same changed in 2021 when OnePlus announced a deeper integration with Oppo. Now users can find a lot of similarities between the custom skins of both Oppo and OnePlus or in other words ColorOS and OxygenOS.
Now coming back to the topic, the OnePlus Product Partnership Lead Gary Chen and Lead of OxygenOS Product Zach Lin confirmed in an interactive session that the stock UI will not come to OxygenOS. It is also revealed that the integration OxygenOS and ColorOS are developed on the same codebase for better build quality and updates.
It was also asked whether OnePlus will be offering an option that will enable users to select between a stock UI and a themed interface and the answer is not clear as it was said that the company takes decisions according to the feedback from the community.
