The smartphone industry is waiting for Google Pixel 4a that is the lite variant of the Pixel 4 series which was launched last year. It is expected that Google will launch the Google Pixel 4a smartphone at the upcoming Google I/O 2020 event. Well, today we got new stuff and that is a big surprise. The fifth generation of Pixel smartphone surfaced online for the first time and it is a very early look as the company will launch the device later this year at the Made by Google event. So, without wasting any time let’s check out the first look of the upcoming Pixel smartphone.
Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech has shared the first render of the upcoming Google Pixel 5 XL smartphone and it suggests that the company is working with the same build which we saw on Google Pixel 4. It is also reported that the upcoming smartphone will come with a U-shaped camera module and that will accommodate a triple rear camera setup.
Personally speaking, it is one of the worst camera setups which I have seen on a smartphone and we can see in the render that there is a huge bump as well and that will not a perfect setup for a daily driver smartphone. That said, this is one of the three prototypes of the upcoming Pixel 5 XL and we wish that the company will not finalize with this designing language on the final product.
Having said that, it seems that the company may also include and Ultra Wide Angle lens in the camera module and the render also shows a coloured power button which is a regular setup in the Pixel series. There is also a notch on the top of the display which is small in size.
As of now, we don’t have any other information about the upcoming smartphone but we are almost 9 months away from the official announcement of the new Pixel Smartphones, which means there is plenty of time to get more details and let’s take this information as a pinch of salt.
