Google’s developers initiative Android Things which helps the Internet of Things is getting two new Home Hub platforms.
Qualcomm is backing Android things with two new Home Hub platforms. The SDA624 and the SDA212 SoC are the products which are familiar to mobile devices is optimized to fit IoT uses. Both the Hubs are optimized to integrate Google Assistant and other Google Cloud-based services into it.
SDA212 is dedicated to power smart home devices like smart household appliances which doesn’t need much workload during operation and the other High-end variant is the SDA624 module which is a performance package for Devices like Cameras or Touchscreens.
In general, both of the devices come with noise cancellation and noise suppression to help Google Assistant pick up voices in extreme noise surroundings.The Hub platforms are paired with Qualcomm QCA9379 wireless chipset which also offers WiFi 802.11ac 2×2 MU-MIMO and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity with 1 GB of RAM and 8GB eMMC flash. To give better audio output, the Hub also supports the WCD9326 audio codec.
Qualcomm is working on to bring IoT on all the home appliances to meet future needs.It is also working with distributors to make the certified system on module for both new Home Hub platforms. The design will reach developers sometime in Q1 2018.
