Qualcomm expands midrange chipset series with Snapdragon 675 SoC

Qualcomm has unveiled a new midrange chipset Snapdragon 675 SoC which is optimized for enhanced gaming and seamless AI capabilities in its range.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 is an upgrade over recently launched Snapdragon 670 SoC. The chipset is manufactured with 11nm LPP process technology which promises to given great efficiency and intense power in midrange chipset series.

According to Qualcomm, the next entry covers over all sections of Smartphone like Gaming, Photography,  Quick Charge 4+ support, and other AI features. To provide seamless gaming experience, the chipset consists of an Octa-Core Kyro 460 CPU and Adreno 612 GPU which supports OpenGL ES 3.2, Open CL 2.0, Direct X 12 and Vulkan. In terms of audio enhancement, the new chipset supports Qualcomm’s Aqstic audio codec and smart speaker amplifier, native DSD support, aptX audio playback, aptX classic to enhance gaming sounds!

The chipset has Snapdragon X12 LTE modem with support for up to 600Mbps LTE connectivity with tri-band, Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2×2 with MU-MIMO. The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 supports Bluetooth v5.0.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC offers 30 percent faster than Snapdragon 670 SoC. 35 percent faster web browsing and 20 percent faster music launch. The Snapdragon 675 will debut in 2019 most probably the first half.
