It is reported that the popular chipset maker Qualcomm is considering a new strategy dubbed “dual-sourcing production strategy” for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 flagship mobile processor which will be official next year. The new strategy will be approaching two companies – Samsung Electronics and TSMC.
The new decision is actually to reduce the risk of relying solely on a single manufacturer for all the chipsets. The upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 mobile processor will be manufactured entirely by TSMC.
It is worth mentioning that Qualcomm has already tried a collaboration with the South Korean electronics giant Samsung in the past for multiple chipsets including Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. However, both the chips failed to meet everyone’s expectations.
So it would be interesting and exciting to learn how things will turn around in the new strategy. Let’s wait for more updates about the matter in the coming months and you guys are recommended to stick with us for more updates from the world of technology.
