The popular mobile chipset maker Qualcomm is in the last stage of preparation before its announcement of the next-generation mobile processor and it was expected to be dubbed Snapdragon 898 mobile processor but last week, we came across a report which suggested that the company may change the naming scheme of its mobile chipsets.
Today the chipset maker Qualcomm has officially revealed the naming setup of its upcoming flagship processor and the same is expected to be announced on November 30. Qualcomm has revealed that the upcoming chipset will have digit and the first letter of the generation and that means the upcoming mobile processor will be called the Snapdragon 8 Gen1.
The company now wants to make things simplified as well as consistent naming structure for its mobile platforms. Qualcomm will also change the naming setup for other mobile chipsets. It is also revealed that the company will use colour badges in its chip logos.
Qualcomm has also separated the Qualcomm and Snapdragon brands and the Snapdragon will be a standalone product brand with a particular set up to the Qualcomm brand. It is also confirmed that the company will not use the suffix “5G”.
