We all know that Qualcomm has there roots settled in mid-range market from quite few years, & they made it strong with there chipset line-up of last year, which includes Snapdragon 650 processor. This processor became popular with Redmi Note 3. But as everyone knows that Xiaomi opted for Snapdragon 625 in Redmi Note 4 instead of Snapdragon 652 or 653 due to some heating issues & also because Qualcomm didn’t launched any new processor in this line-up in 2017. Now today Qualcomm started to send press invites for the launch of Snapdragon 660 processor, the premium processor for 2017’s mid-range phones.
As you can see from the image above the invite is in Chinese. Well that’s because the event is going to be held in Beijing and specifically for the Chinese press. This Snapdragon 660 processor is said to be a octa core processor built on 14nm FinFET manufacturing process instead of 10nm. But as it’s just a leak so we can’t be sure about this. It is said that it will have Adreno 512 GPU which will not be an important upgrade to Adreno 510.
Now talking about the unveiling date, it’s going to be unveil on 9th May that’s upcoming Tuesday. So we have to wait for almost 6 days for the unveiling. Stay tuned with us for more information.
